Grand Gross of the Order of Instruction attributed to Roberto Carneiro

Former Portuguese Minister of Education and Chair of the European Journal of Education, Roberto Carneiro, was honored with the Grand Cross of the Order of Instruction by the President of the Republic of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, during a ceremony at the Portuguese Catholic University in Lisbon. The President stated that "This distinction should have been attributed for a long time" and described Professor Carneiro as "a brilliant and inventive Portuguese" and "a great Minister of Education and a great educator in his daily life." The current Minister of Education, Tiago Brandão Rodrigues, was also present and remarked that Professor Carneiro "had left an indelible mark as an educator and researcher...in the tutelage of education". His biography is available here. Below are pictures of the event.
